Who should take this course?
The American Heart Association's First Aid / CPR / AED course is designed for anyone and everyone. No prior medical training is necessary. Once you dial 911, it generally takes 8-15 minutes for emergency medical services to arrive. You cannot afford to wait that long to render aid to a loved one or a member of your community. Blood loss, choking, respiratory distress, and a host of other medical conditions will be fatal in the time it takes for a professional responder to arrive. To bridge that gap, YOU will need to step in and preserve life. This course is great for anyone who wants to learn how to preserve life. These are skills that camp counselors, lifeguards, school personnel, babysitters, fitness trainers, officer managers, plant supervisors, machine operators, and parents should know. This class could be the difference between life and death for someone you care about.
Upon completion of all course requirements, participants receive a Heartsaver First Aid / CPR / AED course completion card that is valid for two years.
The Human Body
is a wonderfully created, masterful combination of several inter-connected systems. The two that our training most closely interact with are the respiratory and circulatory systems.
Blood belongs inside the body and needs to be oxygenated. While over-simplified, our goal is teach you how to control that simple concept when someone needs your help.
